I have sang this song a million times, since I can't remember when! Exaggerated huh??!?!?! But I simply love the melody and of course the lyrics too. I know the lyrics by heart and never got fed up of singing it.
I am sure there are millions of OFW (Overseas Filipino Workers) who can relate to this song or anybody who is temporarily separated to his or her loved one. Honestly, it is really hard to be million miles away from your loved ones, there are moments you wished that you can be beside them with a snap of a finger! How you wished that they can get close to you wherever you are at anytime. There can be a lot of means, but there are things that are out of your hands, and it just couldn't be even if you wished hard for it. But because we love them, we have to sacrifice a little bit and be thankful to God that we are fortunate to have been blessed with good paying jobs to help not just our families but other less fortunate people as well.

The song was originally sang by Brenda Russell and was revived by Oleta Adams. The song was made popular during the Gulf War in 1991. Wherein the families of deployed troops has made this tune as their theme song.
Here's my own version which was actually recorded 6 years ago. Enjoy!
