Best Friend For Life

At the last day of my so called “rest” days, I am so glad to have a long chat with my best friend for life. For almost 18 years of being friends, it’s just so easy to tell him anything and everything under the sun, the moon and stars! I can sing, laugh, cry, dance and do anything with him. Our friendship may not be perfect and we may not talk everyday but every time we get the opportunity, we make the most of it.

Kahit Kailan by South Border (cover song)

After 2 weeks of being sick, I am much BETTER now! I guess I just needed lots of rest huh! It's been awhile that I haven't done a music video, so, I decided to put on a little make up and recorded this song. It's an OPM in Tagalog language as I don't have much songs in tagalog, and besides it has very meaningful lyrics.

Ave Maria

photo from www.thesplendorofthechurch.blogspot.com

It was almost 20 years ago that "Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish" at New Manila, Quezon City, Philippines was kind to allow our family to hold the wake of my mother Estela A. Roxas, and this is also the parish where we used to go to hear mass with the whole family.I felt that my Mama was so special because she was inside the church (left side of the church) and had mass everyday. It was the saddest moment of the family but was blessed and secured by our Father God and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.

Ancheta Family Reunion

I am now locked up at my studio pad, for a complete rest! I hate being sick and the worst part is, you have to take care of yourself alone most of the time. Because friends are working and they also have their own lives and families to look after to. But anyway, I am still blessed to have my friend's support, concern and prayers most importantly.

please be careful with my HEART

5 days ago something alarming happened to my health that really scared me. At 830am I had nose bleeding, felt dizzy and vomited, not knowing the real reason behind it. I actually thought that, I felt dizzy because I saw blood.  I even joked around that “I’m not pregnant!” I was fighting back what I was feeling then, otherwise I might have fainted. I went to the Clinic and BOOM! My blood pressure hit to 152/76, well actually that was the second BP reading, I could not remember the first one but it was much higher. The physician ordered for a 24-hour blood pressure monitor and sent me home.

Day 100: Thank you for the Music LORD

Finally, my 100 Days Singing Challenge has come to an end.  To be honest, in the middle of the challenge I wanted to give up, there were just tiring days that all I want to do is to rest. But seeing the growing number of viewers and hearing feedbacks from friends just kept me going!

The Nearness of You

Nearness of You is a revival song by Norah Jones on her album Come Away With Me. Originally the song was written in 1938 and was featured in the film Romance in the Dark starring John Barrymore and John Boles. It's not the pale moon that excites me
That thrills and delights me
Oh no, it's just the nearness of you

It isn't your sweet conversation
That brings this sensation
Oh no, it's just the nearness of you

When you're in my arms
And I feel you so close to me
All my wildest dreams came true

I need no soft lights to enchant me
If you will only grant me
The right to hold you ever so tight
And to feel in the night
The nearness of you

Day 94: A song about break-up

My Immortal
by Evanescence

My Immortal is a piano rock ballad written in slow and free tempo with 80 beats per minute. Ben Moody was inspired to write it by a previous story that happened to him. Lyrically, it talks about a spirit staying with you after its death and haunting you until you actually wish that the spirit were gone because it won't leave you alone. The song became Evanescence's second highest charting single, peaking within the top ten of more than ten countries. It topped the charts in Canada, Greece and Billboard's Adult Pop Songs.

Talking about the composition and the meaning of the song, Tom Reynolds of The Guarding said, My Immortal is A whimpering post-breakup tune in which lead singer Amy Lee pitifully mourns the end of a relationship over a piano accompaniment that sounds like Pachelbel after the Prozac wore off. My Immortal closely follows the "quantum tragedy paradigm" the shorter the time two people spent together as a couple, the more overwrought the song is that describes their break-up. Judging by the lorry-load of anguish Lee spews out, she split from someone she dated for about an hour (if her lyrics are to be believed, the guy was a real freak, too).
